Let's talk about James and Xiaoxaio’s wedding at Drumtochty Castle just outside of Aberdeen. Drumtochty is without doubt one of my personal favorite venues in the whole of Scotland. (might make a wee post about best venues soon) The reasons for this are varied, but the main one being that after visiting Drumtochty on several occasions, each wedding just feels completely different. It has about 4 or 5 different options for ceremony spaces and I can't for the life of me think of another venue that offers those options.
This wedding was obviously special for a couple of reasons (the wedding spreadsheet being a thing of unrivaled precision #wedmin) But I really wanted to share this because of how amazing all the Chinese influences and the attention to detail Xaioxaio put in. Hopefully this all shows through, in what I think is one of the most beautiful wedding preps I have ever seen. Plus three dress changes is a record I have yet to see beaten. Or James velvet jacket. Or the amazing vintage wedding car. Or the Corgi flower girl. Or handmade origami cranes. Or the dessert table of my wildest dreams.
Apparently it's custom in China for the groom to perform some tasks before seeing his bride in a kind of blind date/pub quiz/HITT routine hybrid sort of way. From answering questions only he should know, to performing acts of strength or finding a well hidden shoe. Whatever it was, I loved it! Kind of feel like every wedding should have these games if i'm honest.
Right that's enough from me today. Feast yer eyes on some Scottish wedding photography below.
