So now it’s mid summer, it’s definitely time to post a winter wedding. Jayne and Ewan got married in December last year at the brilliant Fingask Castle in Rait just outside of Perth. It is a beautiful and slightly eccentric place, full of character and charm. I loved shooting here and have had the good fortune of photographing a couple wedding days here since then. The gardens have some amazing topiary hedges, which isn’t something you tend to get at every wedding venue. Definetly felt lucky to be their wedding photographer for the day. I started the day by meeting up with Jayne and her family at the castle where preparations were taking place. It also gave us a chance to look around the castle while all was quiet and get some great detail shots.
After the prep, I hoped in the car and drove over the Tay to the fair city of Perth to meet the Ewan and his side of the wedding party at St Matthews Church. Soon after the Jayne and her bridesmaids arrived to kick things off.
It was then back to Fingask Castle for those all important couple and family shots. Before running inside from the Scottish cold. The guys did a great job putting together their wedding day and best of all the Scottish weather didn’t get in the way of a good time. We even got the time to take some really fun sparkler pictures that Jayne and Ewan had wanted to capture. So all in all a great success of a day.
