Still catching up on a lot of the work I did over the summer and really happy to finally getting round to sharing Tom and Lizzie’s wedding at Ravensheugh Log Cabin in beautiful East Lothian. This was such a fun wedding to be part of, Tom and Lizzie are a genuinely warm, welcoming couple and really made sure to do things their way. Not only this but the location they chose in Ravensheugh was just about everything you could hope for in a summer wedding.
The day started with me catching up with Lizzie and her family getting ready at the Crown and Kitchen in the beautiful old town of East Linton. It’s always a lot of fun when you can get all the excitement and hustle that happens on a wedding day morning, plus manage to capture those genuine moments of spontaneous fun and laughter.
Next stop Ravensheugh, brilliant location that gives you a little bit of everything from beach, forest, open space and a brilliant view of Bass Rock.
Lizzie and Tom are dog people and insisted that they even had Jill their border collie with them during the ceremony. She even made it a long for some of the couples pictures which I loved.
Not to be outdone with having an all-round fantastic wedding day. Guests were treated to a brilliant piece of entertainment in the form of a Japanese drumming troupe.
Oh and then there was the personalised escape room provided by Padlox Escape Rooms a fantastic mobile escape rooms team that travels to different weddings venues across Scotland…and probably the rest of the UK. Amazing idea and the guests really got into the fun of it all.
Finally, its dancing time. Lizzie and Tom hired Or Ceilidh Band. I can say with confidence that I have seen my fair share of ceilidh bands over the years and these guys were among one of the best. They really got the party atmosphere going and for a bit of fun had half the wedding guests dancing in and out of the marquee tent.
Honestly I don’t think you could have managed to fit anymore into a wedding day than these guys did and keep such a calm and laid back feel to the whole thing. Tom and Lizzie really went the extra mile not just for themselves, but to make sure all their guests were entertained and what’s not to love about that.
